From 2008 – 2013, I had a side hustle as a part-time web designer – mainly growing out of my work creating a website for Amy’s first netball club, Rushmoor NC. This was before the advent of popular and easy-to-use main stream web builder packages such as Wix, Weebly, Squarespace etc.
This was hugely satisfying work, I loved working with clients to help craft their websites exactly as they wished. Ultimately, however, the coming of the big players mentioned above made it less viable to offer bespoke web design services.
Amazingly, some of my sites are still live – but they were built in standards-compliant XHTML code, so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised that they have stood the test of time!
